News from Atlantis Submarines Barbados
Known to all as Warren or "the man with the Barry White voice", Alleyne joined Atlantis Submarines Barbados on June 15th 1987. The Barbados site was the second Atlantis site in the world and therefore Warren has been at the forefront of the recreational submarine micro niche. Warren started as a copilot, in less than a year qualified as a pilot and went on to make a sterling contribution as a member of the maintenance team. Warren was privileged to participate in the assembly of Atlantis XII when it was being built in Vancouver Canada and this knowledge has served him well. Warren has demonstrated over the period that he is highly skilled and very innovative as there are many implements, tools and gadgets that bear his initials as inventor or builder.

A noted few of his creations adapted specifically to the submarine operation to make jobs more safe and efficient are a prototype chair for the differently-abled, which though not implemented was the start of a long history of innovation. A purpose built davit for hoisting heavy items like oxygen bottles, fairings thrusters etc has surely ensured that jobs were completed injury free. His collaborative efforts included the 'WARROD" used to remove level sensors from the submarine, and an apparatus to assist with the lifting of batteries and battery box. Warren's construction skills were utilized to build the staging area and floating dock for the Rhino Riders ( a self driven, semi inflatable boat), as well as the construction of the mezzanine floor that now is home to the Atlantis Administrative offices.
Warren has piloted Atlantis II and Atlantis III but has been involved as a member of the core team that has ensured an excellent record of conformance and equipment uptime of the aforementioned vessels as well as the latest addition to the fleet Atlantis XV. Warren will start his retirement with a sojourn in Canada with his family but he knows when the temperature gets too low and to ensure "his body remains in gear"; we will have a place for him at Atlantis Barbados. Thank you Warren for a sterling contribution and great memories as each staff member relayed during the farewell. Earlier this year a pre retirement dinner was held in Warren's honor and was attended by the CEO and COO of Atlantis Submarines International, so that at the highest level his contribution was lauded.
